Survey on the use of ICT (information and communication technologies) in households and by individuals is carried out in all European Union countries based on a common and proven methods and allows to follow Internet access and usage habits of population aged 16–74 as well as other trends related to ICT use in households.

If the address was selected with a random sampling method, respondents receive a Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) letter inviting them to take part in the survey. The respondents will be asked about the Internet, e-commerce and e-government use, digital skills, etc. ICT-related questions.

The applicable laws and regulations of the European Union and of the Republic of Latvia allows the CSB to collect and process personal data and mandates it to ensure the protection and confidentiality of the data received. The information acquired will be published only in a summarised form for the analysis of economic and social phenomena and related processes.

Online interviews

If you have received a postal or e-mail letter inviting you to complete online questionnaire, you can do that at e.csp.gov.lv within the period from 8 January to 16 February.

The letter addressee will be asked to log in the e-survey system using Internet bank, e-identification card, or e-signature identity verification.

Telephone or face-to-face interviews

If due to some reason you are not able to complete e-survey, during the period from 19 February to 26 May a CSP interviewer will contact you to arrange a telephone or face-to-face (if the conditions to protect health of the society permit) interview.

Upon arrival, interviewer will present a CSB employee identification card with a photo. If you want to verify identity of your interviewer or find out any other information about the survey:

  • call the toll-free assistance number +371 80008811 on weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00; or
  • contact the CSB by writing to the e-mail address ikt@csp.gov.lv
