Approved by the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 2023/674 of 26 December 2022 amending the Annexes to Regulation (EC) No 1059/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the establishment of a common classification of territorial units for statistics (NUTS).

The classification in line with the Regulation (EC) No 1059/2003 Section 5, Clause 4 is updated and revised not more often than in every three years.
Classification edition NUTS 2024 is valid from 1 January 2024.

Description of hierarchy
Each Member State is broken down into territorial units of NUTS Level 1, each of which us broken down into territorial units of NUTS Level 2, which, in turn, are broken down into territorial units of NUTS Level 3.
