Every three years, the Cabinet of Ministers adopts regulations approving the Official Statistics Programme. The programme provides an overview of the official statistics that will be produced over the next three years by the Central Statistical Bureau and other public authorities producing official statistics.
Current official statistics programmes
Currently, official statistics are produced in accordance with the Official Statistics Programmes set out in the following regulations:
- Regulation No 752 of the Cabinet defining the official statistics to be produced under the Official Statistics Programme 2026–2028 (available in Latvian only).
The Regulation was adopted for a three-year planning period. The full content of the regulations, including the annex, is therefore prepared and approved for three years. In the following two years, amendments may be introduced, if necessary, instead of issuing new Cabinet regulations each year.
- Regulation No 816 of the Cabinet defining the official statistics to be produced under the Official Statistics Programme 2025–2027 (available in Latvian only).
Useful information
For the convenience of data users, CSB has summarised information on the transition from NACE Rev. 2 to NACE Rev. 2.1 in the Official Statistics Programme. The overview indicates the reference year from which NACE Rev. 2.1 will be applied in each statistical output, when the first results based on the new classification will be published, whether data will be available according to both classifications, and whether time series will be recalculated.
Implementation of the Official Statistics Programme
- In accordance with the Statistics Law, all official statistics and the related reference metadata are published on the official statistics portal in line with the Advance dissemination calendar.
