Adult Education Survey in Latvia will be conducted from 1 September 2022 to 15 January 2023 and will help to collect information on educational attainment, not completed education, non-formal education, learning possibilities as well as learning motivation, etc. The survey is conducted in all European Union countries based on common methodology. In Latvia it will be carried out for the fourth time (previous survey took place in 2016).

If you have received Central Statistical Bureau (hence – CSB) invitational letter, it means that you were selected for the survey with a random sampling method. The survey covers people aged 18–69.

Pursuant to the regulations of the European Union and the Republic of Latvia, CSB has a right to collect and process personal data and is obliged to ensure safety and confidentiality of the data provided. Survey results will be published in a summarised form only for analysis of social phenomena and processes.

Web interviews

Online questionnaires will be available from 1 to 15 September 2022  on the CSB website  

Only the person who received the invitational letter shall complete the online questionnaire. Respondents can log in the electronic data collection system with online bank, digital ID, or e-signature.

If due to any reason you are not able to complete electronic questionnaire during the period indicated in the letter, a CSB interviewer will contact you.

Face-to-face and telephone interviews

Telephone and face-to-face interviews will be conducted from 20 September 2022 to 15 January 2023. A CSB interviewer will contact you and tell all interview details. Face-to-face interviews will only take place if the epidemiological situation allows it. Upon arrival, the interviewer will present a CSB employee identification card with a photo.
